LakeSmart

What happens on your property affects the lake—whether you live along the lake or miles from it in it's watershed.  The New Hampshire Lakes LakeSmart program is a great way to evaluate and possibly improve your property's impact on Kolelemook Lake.

LakeSmart is an education, evaluation, and recognition program that is free, voluntary, and non-regulatory. It includes an evaluation process to determine how lake-friendly your property and activities are.

The evaluation covers driveway and parking areas, structures and wastewater treatment systems, and yard and play areas. For properties along the water, the shoreline and shallow water areas of the lake are included.

A great way to begin the NH LakeSmart program is to take NH Lakes' online self assessment survey 'How Lake Smart Are You?' After you take the survey, you'll get a personalized report with advice and resources to make your property lake smart.
