About the KLPA

To KLPA Members:

Welcome to the KLPA website!. I hope you take some time to review the content in this site to learn what the KLPA does and what YOU can do to keep Kolelemook Lake healthy. We all enjoy Kolelemook Lake for different reasons – swimming, boating, fishing, loon watching or just relaxing by the lake and enjoying a cool summer breeze. While we may enjoy the lake for different reasons, the common denominator is that we ALL depend on a healthy lake.

This website is designed to show what the KLPA is doing to keep our lake healthy. Under the Programs Tab, you will find useful information about our Lake Host, Lake Smart, Water Sampling and Weed Watching programs. Under the Education & Resources Tab you will find helpful information for shoreline owners on how they can do their part as a steward of the lake.

We communicate with our members primarily through email and our Facebook page. If your email is not in our contact list, please send us an email at [email protected] and request to be added to our email list. We send out quarterly newsletters and other correspondence relating to Board activities.

Maintaining a healthy lake starts with knowing and managing what is flowing into the lake. Currently the KLPA performs monthly water sampling in the summer months and funds a Lake Host to inspect watercraft entering and exiting the lake from the town boat launch. To address pollutants flowing into Kolelemook Lake through water runoff, the KLPA is focusing current efforts on commissioning a watershed management plan and expanding shoreline owners participation in NHLAKES Lake Smart program. More information to come!
