Weed Watching

Kolelemook Weed Watchers Program

Because it is impossible to check every boat, big or small, entering Kolelemook, we use a group of volunteers who regularly check the lake for new invasive plants and creatures. To date, thankfully no invasive flora or fauna species have been found in Lake Kolelemook - and our mission is to keep it that way!

See Something, Say Something
All visitors to Kolelemook can help us check for invasive species. If you notice anything suspicious or curious while you're using the lake, please notify us by filling out this form.

Become a Weed Watcher Volunteer

We are always looking for more volunteers who regularly use Kolelemook Lake to volunteer as weed watchers. Each volunteer is assigned a section of the lake to monitor at least once per month (May-Sept) and submit a short report to the Weed Watcher Coordinator. This allows us to identify any suspicious or concerning items to investigate immediately before they can spread.
Interested? Email the Kolelemook Weed Watcher Coordinator, Danielle Dulchinos, at [email protected]
